David Krňanský (1987) studied in the studio of Jiří Kovanda at the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem and then in the studio of Jiří Černický and Marek Meduna at the Academy of Arts and Industry in Prague where he received his bachelor’s degree. During his studies he founded the art group BHG (Black Hole Generation) with his classmates Julius Reichl, Martin Lukáč and Štěpán Marek.
Since graduating, Krňanský has been focusing mainly on painting and has long been exploring the theme of crisis. Krňanský has presented his work in several solo and group exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad, including Jelení Gallery (2013), SPZ (2014), Futura (2015), Hunt Kastner (2015), Ivan Galerry (2016), Leto Gallery (2017), Gallery of Pilsen (2018), House of Art Brno (2019), Berlin Model (2021).
