The commode is inspired by Czech Art Nouveau aesthetics and interdisciplinary artists of that period such as František Bílek. Interdisciplinary, which was typical for that era, led to the idea of combining design and drawings. Crossing the borders between applied arts and fine arts, Jiri Krejcirik designed the sculptural furniture. The visual artist Taja Spasskova then etched it using a wood-burning technique typical of the aforementioned period. The whole Nouveau collection is meticulously hand-crafted in the Czech Republic with a deep focus on delicate details such as miter joints, beveled edges and a soft-touch matte surface finishing.
